You Get a lot of "Bang for Your Buck" with the 1/4" chip flake system!
This is typically a three day process. And, all of our Epoxy Garage Floors come with a ten year warranty.
Epoxy Garage Floors is what we do. It's an everyday thing for us.
There are many benefits to installing a commercial grade epoxy system in your garage. Epoxy garage floors are not only beautiful, and durable, but require very little maintenance. Another benefit to the Chip Flake System is that it goes a long way in hiding the imperfections inherent in concrete. This includes cracks, divots, and just general unevenness. The Chip Flake System is also the only system designed for vehicle traffic.
However, it is important that you get your epoxy garage floors done by a professional. This will ensure that it’s properly installed. We will get the job done right the first time. And, all of our work comes with a ten-year warranty. Using the right materials here is very important. Goldenwest Epoxy always uses something called “Vapor Block Epoxy”.
Vapor Block Epoxy is basically a water-proofer. It absolutely will not peel off the concrete. That is the first consideration when installing an epoxy garage floor. Chip flake is just vinyl paint chips that are arranged by designers to match the background epoxy. And finally, the sealer. Here again, we ALWAYS use something called “Polyurea”. It’s a heavy-duty, commercial grade, high-gloss concrete sealer. Whew! (It’s good stuff). None of these materials are water-based, and none of this is “box store” brand product. (I don’t think they should even sell that stuff)!
1st day: Mechanically prep concrete, and patch.
2nd day: Apply Vapor Block Epoxy and chip flake.
3rd day: Apply Polyurea Sealer
4th day: You can walk on it.
5th day: You can drive on it.
We divide the installation process into three steps, over the course of three days: preparation, installation, and sealing.
Preparation:
Possibly the most important step in our epoxy garage flooring service is the preparation. Without solid prep work, the epoxy won’t have the proper adhesion necessary to withstand vehicle traffic.
The Equipment:
Goldenwest Epoxy is equipped with concrete grinders that are attached to HEPA vacuums. The concrete grinders “open” the concrete and allow the epoxy to “wick” deep into the slab. We then patch whatever cracks and divots we find, and allow that to dry overnight.
Installation:
Once we have the concrete prepped and patched, the installation can begin. The next step in our epoxy garage flooring service is applying the “Vapor Block” epoxy and the chip flake. After the stem walls are completed and the floors are rolled we evenly apply a liberal amount of “chip flake”. Also referred to as the “speckles”. We then allow all of that to dry overnight.
Sealing:
The third day is when we seal the entire garage floor. We use something called “Polyurea”. This is a high gloss, heavy duty, two part sealer. Not only does this look awesome, but has a “wear factor” of at least ten years. Note: Goldenwest Epoxy warranties all of our epoxy garage floors for ten years. Although, they’ll be there for twenty.
Maintenance:
One of the most desirable aspects of epoxy garage floors is its durability and resistance to grease, grime, oils, etc. The high density of the materials means that it’s super easy to keep clean. You can just hose it off! (If you wanted to).
